Two straps crossing over the instep, with a small buckle to take up the difference between one foot and the other. Everyone has one foot slightly bigger; almost no shoe admits it.

The crossing point is the hardest part to get right — too high and it gapes, too low and it presses. We set it by hand on every pair.

Wipe with a soft dry cloth. Keep out of direct sun. Feed with a neutral leather balm two or three times a year — more if you wear them hard.
